David Dewar is an Associate Director and Head of Contested Litigation at Winn Solicitors Limited. He has over 20 years’ experience acting in complex litigation, particularly in cases involving disputed liability and challenging evidential issues.

David began his legal career as a Paralegal in 1990 after leaving the Royal Air Force, qualifying as a solicitor in 2002. He has held partnership roles at Ward Hadaway and Beecham Peacock and joined Winn Solicitors in 2019. Previously recognised in both Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners as a leading practitioner.

He now leads a department of over 150 lawyers dealing with serious (and less serious) injury claims, contentious probate and wider civil litigation matters.

Outside of work, David enjoys family life, golf, walking his border terriers and following Newcastle United.
