As part of our Bicentenary year and our theme of Honouring the Past; Preparing for the Future, we are looking beyond the traditional boundaries of legal practice to explore one of the most exciting and rapidly developing areas of law. Space is no longer the preserve of governments and astronauts, with the North East emerging as an important hub for the space sector, new legal questions are developing around regulation, governance, international relations, cybersecurity, AI and the responsible use of space. Bringing together leading voices from academia, industry and the legal profession, this special annual lecture will explore the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of space law and what they could mean for lawyers in our region.
