We have pleasure in announcing our high-profile keynote speakers for a focused update on the changing personal injury and clinical negligence landscape hosted by Temple Legal Protection. We’ll be joined by a Barrister who is a complex clinical negligence and personal injury expert, an Expert Witness who is also a registered nurse with specialist qualifications and a Head of Solicitor Services and Quality Assurance who is an expert in rehabilitation products.

PI & Clin Neg - Expert  Speakers

Stuart Jamieson is Head of the Civil Team at Parklane Plowden and also sits as a Recorder and Deputy District Judge on the North Eastern Circuit. He is the elected Circuit representative to the Personal Injury Bar Association and serves on its national Executive Committee. A recognised specialist in high-value and complex clinical negligence and personal injury disputes, Stuart is instructed by leading solicitors nationwide. He undertakes both Claimant and Defendant work across personal injury, abuse and clinical negligence matters

Dr Helen Wall has worked in the medico-legal sector since 2014 and is instructed nationwide as an expert witness in complex and high-value cases, including catastrophic birth injury claims, class actions and human rights matters, acting for both Claimant and Defendant solicitors. She holds a Master’s degree in Medical Law from the University of Manchester and has an extensive background in women’s health and bladder and bowel dysfunction across primary, secondary and tertiary care.

Helen is a qualified Health Visitor and Registered Nurse with specialist qualifications in public health, nurse prescribing and clinical education.

This insightful session examining the growing medico-legal implications of birth trauma, focusing on preventable clinical failings, informed consent and systemic issues in maternity care. The presentation will highlight the long-term physical and psychological impact on women, offering valuable perspective for practitioners handling complex clinical negligence claims.

Lisa Fricker is Head of Solicitor Services and Quality Assurance at Temple Legal Protection. Lisa has over 20 years’ experience in the Legal Insurance industry, having previously worked for both DAS Legal Expenses and ARAG Legal Services. She has extensive knowledge of both the BTE and ATE markets, and a great insight into the inner workings of a legal firm due to her vast experience as an auditor. Lisa is used to working closely with solicitors to develop and maintain good working relationships, leading to positive partnerships for all parties.

This session will explore the different forms of rehabilitation — including physical, occupational, psychological, and speech and language support — and consider how tailored interventions across a range of settings can play a vital role in long-term recovery and improved quality of life.
