President's Area Visit to Carlisle

President's Area Visit to Carlisle

The Newcastle and North of England Law Society is pleased to invite Carlisle solicitors to a lunchtime meeting with our incoming President, Lesley Fairclough, and Law Society President, Mark Evans, on Wednesday 27th May 2026 at Armstrong Watson, James Watson House, Montgomery Way, Rosehill Roundabout, Carlisle CA1 2UU. Arrival from 12:30pm for a 1:00pm start.

2026 marks our Bicentennial year – 200 years since The Newcastle Law Society was founded in 1826, just one year after The Law Society. As one of the oldest regional law societies in England, we are proud of our long-standing commitment to professionalism, service and the legal community.

This milestone year also reflects an exciting period of growth. Following the coming together of Tees Valley Law Society and Carlisle & District Law Society, we now move forward as The Newcastle & North of England Law Society – representing the strength and diversity of the profession across our region.

As we celebrate 200 years of achievement, we do so by honouring the past and preparing for the future. With an exciting programme of events, CPD seminars and celebrations planned for 2026/27, now is a fantastic time to become a member of the Society and be part of this landmark chapter in our history. Information about our membership categories can be found on our website together with the evolving programme of events.

This meeting is an opportunity to meet our Presidents, hear about the Society’s work, and raise any matters of interest or concern. Armstrong Watson are kindly hosting and will provide a light lunch and refreshments.
