National Law Society Council Elections

Preliminary notice has been given that elections of members of the Council will take place for the constituencies and special interest seats that fall vacant on the expiry of the terms of office of the current Council members at the Society’s annual general meeting on 12 October 2022.

All successful candidates will take office at the AGM’s conclusion for a term of 4 years (unless stated otherwise). There are numerous special interest seats to be filled, which include: 

Criminal Defence, Criminal Prosecution Services (casual vacancy), Employment, Ethnic Minorities (2 vacancies, 1 vacancy must be filled by a Black Solicitors’ Network member), Family, In-house corporate, Legal Aid, LGBT+, Major Corporate, Private Client and Women Lawyers

One of the  geographical seats for the north-east constituency is also up for election.
