Honorary QC Nominations 2022

All practitioners and members of the public are free to make nominations (including self-nominations if they qualify) directly to the Ministry of Justice using the online nomination form at Honorary Queen’s Counsel nominations: deadline Monday 29 August 2022 - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) 

In addition the national Law Society is participating in this process, as in previous years, by nominating solicitors. We invite you to nominate yourself or another solicitor to them. Office holders will consider all applications received and select those who will be put forward as nominees of the Law Society of England and Wales.  

You can make a nomination for this process is by providing
1. The full name, email address and postal address of the nominee (who may be yourself or another solicitor). In addition, it is not essential but helpful if you are able to provide the following: contact telephone number for nominee; Roll of Solicitors number for nominee AND

2. A 500-word statement in Word format (not PDF) covering the following: 

 ·        Their legal qualifications and legal experience to date 

·         What significant contribution have they made to the law in England and Wales other than in court 

·         Major contribution beyond what might normally be expected for someone in their position 

·         Why you think this person should be nominated by the national Law Society as an Honorary QC. 

Please send the nomination to appointments@lawsociety.org.uk  to arrive no later than 12 noon onFriday 12 August 2022 for consideration by the Law Society.     

Nomination by the Law Society of England and Wales is subject to their own internal discernment process and is, of course, no guarantee of ultimate success in the competition.  As mentioned above, you are free to nominate yourself or anyone you wish directly to the Ministry of Justice.
