Newcastle Law Society in partnership with the Northern Society for Chartered Accountants (NORSCA) have pleasure in hosting a Cyber Crime Seminar on Wednesday the 23rd of October from 5.30pm (further event information to be confirmed).

We are working closely with The North East Regional Cyber Crime Unit (NERCCU) to raise awareness of the rise in cyber crime in the region. Northumbria Police’s Crime Prepare and Protect Team are keen to support legal and accountancy firms to understand current cyber crime threats and the extent to why both of these professional services are being targeted by cyber criminals and hacktivists. Receive valuable advice on fraud awareness and the current trends in cyber crime and the latest North East Victim Reports. Building resilience against fraud is crucial and cyber security training for organisations of all sizes could ultimately prepare and protect against being a victim of cyber attack.

Experts from Northumbria University will present the latest research into EncroChat and the Dark Web, giving a glimpse into the future of complex criminal investigations and what lessons can be learned?

Our sponsor Amiqus will demonstrate their anti-money laundering software, designed to help simplify compliance as regulations are on the rise and so are sanctions. Protecting your business, managing clients’ personal data, vetting staff and meeting regulatory expectations have for many become a full-time job. We recommend you use Amiqus for staff background checks, including criminal record, as well as AML compliance checks for clients.
