The next meeting of the Association will take place on Wednesday 15^th March 2023 at 12.30 for 1.00 on the second floor of the west stand at Newcastle Falcons Rugby Club, Kingston Park Brunton Road, Newcastle upon Tyne NE13 8AF - which is the same area where we met in June and October 2022. The cost of the lunch is £14.50 or £29.00 for two. 

Our guest and speaker will be Dr Shane McCorristine a friend of, and recommended by, the speaker at our last meeting Dr Helen Rutherford.  He is a Reader in Cultural History and Lecturer in Modern British History at Newcastle University and the subject of his talk will be the “History of Newcastle Gaol 1828-1925”. 

Shane describes himself as an inter-disciplinary historian with interests in the “night side” of modern experience namely social attitudes towards death, crimes, dreams and ghosts.

As always you are most welcome to bring a guest – lets make this a bumper attendance!
